Hands-on visitor encounters with maritime craft, design and making. Demonstrations and accessible activities reveal how ingenuity and practical skills shaped the Solent's maritime heritage.
Lymington's story is one of skilled hands: shipwrights, sailmakers, riggers and designers. The Solent Makers is envisaged as a way for visitors to see that craft up close and try it for themselves, through demonstrations and accessible activities. It is a visitor-facing experience and distinct from the community Workshop, although the two could share expertise and, at times, space.
Physical spaces at the Hub are planned to be multi-use and could change throughout the day.
